France Billet & Tick&Live Easy

France Billet, a subsidiary of the Fnac Darty Group, is the leading ticketing distribution network in France. As part of expanding its offer, France Billet wanted a new ticketing solution dedicated to festivals, cinemas and concert halls: Tick&Live Easy.

This « self-ticketing » solution had to make clients fully autonomous in managing their ticketing, around several building blocks: a complete back-office (single/multi-session events, pricing and VAT, packs and subscriptions, reporting), web & mobile front ends (e-commerce widgets, point-of-sale systems) and a mobile ticket-control app. Steamulo, with its partner IPSOSENSO, was chosen to build this solution from a blank page.

A service-oriented architecture and a custom stack

To meet France Billet's requirements (per-component release cycles, no SPOF, load balancing, zero downtime deployment, technology-agnostic RESTful API), Steamulo recommended a modular API-First, service-oriented (SOA) architecture, with dedicated microservices per feature — ensuring modularity, sustainability, scalability and fault tolerance.

The platform is custom-built in Java Spring Boot, with a finely tuned Elasticsearch search engine (full-text, multi-criteria, multilingual) and a MySQL database. A coherent whole, built solely from widely proven open-source components.

An e-commerce widget factory

A distinctive feature of the solution: a B2C e-commerce front end delivered as embeddable widgets for clients' third-party websites. The widget factory generates components of various sizes and shapes, embeddable on a secure domain (HTTPS), compatible with all modern browsers, customisable to the client's site colours and responsive.
